The implants used at The Dental Suite are made of a lightweight titanium which is a biocompatible, non-toxic metal and well-tolerated by the body. Our implants are manufactured in Switzerland by global leaders in dental care Straumann.
Once the implant has been fully integrated with the surrounding bone, it can be used to attach crowns, bridges or dentures if required. It can take 6 – 12 weeks for the bone to fully grow around the implant. During this period a temporary bridge can be used to protect the site and to cover any unsightly gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Am I eligible for implants?
A: A full case assessment needs to take place to see if a implant can be fitted. This involves x-rays, photographs and impressions.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Implants are fitted during a procedure which is done under conscious intravenous sedation. The patient is numb and comfortable throughout the procedure, almost asleep. Patients may experience a small amount of bleeding, bruising and some swelling after surgery but our patients very rarely experience excessive pain.
Q: Which implant system do you use?
A: We use the Straumann implant system. They are global leaders and are well recognised throughout the dental industry.
